Global Protocols for the New Normal Suitcase

UBC Hotels Recognized with Safe Travel Stamp from World Travel and Tourism Council

Posted By On 2 Mar 2021

We are delighted to inform that UBC’s Conferences & Accommodations Vancouver hotel properties, which include the West Coast Suites, the Gage Apartments, Ponderosa Studios and the Pacific Spirit Hostel, have been recognized as a #SafeTravel accommodation by the World Travel and Tourism Council.

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) represents the “global private sector of Travel and Tourism, with a mission to ensure the sector is seamless, secure, safe, inclusive, and sustainable.” In response to COVID-19, the WTTC created the Safe Travel stamp, which is a global safety and hygiene stamp for the tourism industry worldwide.

The stamp recognizes destinations and tourism businesses that meet WTTC’s global protocols and compliance with regards to COVID-19 safety and hygiene. WTTC’s compliance and protocols follow WHO and CDC guidelines, which Safe Travel members must adhere to.

More importantly, since Conferences and Accommodations currently has hotels that are operational and open for business to serve students, faculty, staff and the UBC community, we hope that the Safe Travel stamp will help assure visitors to our Vancouver hotels that we are actively abiding by global standardized protocols, so that they can feel safe when staying with us.
