UBC Attractions

Arts, science, and sports—there is something on campus for everyone. Expand your knowledge and learn as you walk the exhibition rooms of the Beaty Biodiversity Museum. Watch a spectacular show or musical performance at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. Practice your swing at the nearby University Golf Club. Keep fit during your stay at one of UBC’s athletic and recreation facilities, including an Olympic sized indoor swimming pool, ice skating rink, indoor tennis courts, and much more!

Eating on Campus

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner—there are many food options on campus to satisfy your taste buds! Loafe, Great Dane, Blue Chip Cookies and many more campus cafes will have you covered for a quick and easy breakfast. Alongside fast-food spots (Subway, Triple O’s, Tim Hortons, and more), there are a variety of independent establishments offering some tasteful dishes for lunch. Some of the popular lunch spots consist of Downlow Chicken, Steve’s Poke Bar, and Ryuu Japanese Kitchen. If these don’t tickle your fancy, head over to the NEST for The Delly, or the UBC Life building, or the International Food Court for a wide variety of food outlets – perfect for a bite to eat.

The many options of local restaurants make it a tough choice when deciding where to eat for dinner. Conveniently located on campus, you’ll find Browns Crafthouse, Gallery Patio & Lounge, and many more restaurants offering some delicious dishes and dining experiences. If you are planning to venture off campus to our surrounding neighbourhoods, consider fine dining at Wildlight Kitchen & Bar (Michelin recommended) or embrace the buzzing game-day atmosphere at Sports Illustrated Clubhouse.

The Natural Surroundings

UBC’s Vancouver campus is situated in a picturesque setting. With stunning beaches and national parks within walking distance, there’s no excuse to be indoors! Take a morning stroll along the many surrounding beaches, explore the Pacific Spirit Park or walk the many trails to Spanish Banks. Take a breath of coastal fresh air during your stay.

The Big City

With Downtown Vancouver only a short drive or bus commute away from the UBC campus, the lively city is an option at day and at night. With a seemingly endless number of shops, restaurants, attractions, and cultural experiences, Downtown Vancouver will have you spoiled for choices in no time. Some of the most popular locations to explore are the West End, Coal Harbour, Gastown, and Yaletown. With convenient public transport links to and from the UBC campus, getting to downtown is an enjoyable and easy ride.
